Be on the look out for a new blog that I'm going to be co-authoring with my buddy Mike "The Ultimate Warrior" Bledose.
The blog will be focused exclusively on sports and Mike and I will debate the best and worst that the world of sports has to offer.
We look forward to some feedback and comments are always welcome!
We hope to have the first posting up right after Labor Day.

Let's Go Boise State!!!
Can you smell that? It smells like it’s almost (American) football time in Tennessee! Coach Dooley and the Vols will have their hands full simply trying to get into a bowl game this season, so don’t get your hopes too high Vol Nation.
I wanted to discuss what could be the most important issue facing the sports nation this upcoming season: the death of the B.C.S. Can it come quickly enough? Now I’m certainly not naive enough to think that there will be any kind of drastic change this season, or even next season. But we, as college football fans, need to stand up and declare the sanctity of our beloved college football. The B.C.S. (Bull Crap Series) has done nothing but muddy the waters with regard to answering the question, “Who is the national champion of college football?” Take a look at the history of the BCS championship game:
1998 Tennessee 23 Florida State 16
1999 Florida State 46 Virginia Tech 29
2000 Oklahoma 13 Florida State 2
2001 Miami (Fla.) 37 Nebraska 14
2002 Ohio State
31 Miami (Fla.) (2 OT) 24
2003 LSU 21 Oklahoma 14
2004 USC 55 Oklahoma 19
2005 Texas 41 USC 38
2006 Florida 41 Ohio State 14
2007 LSU 38 Ohio State 24
2008 Florida 24 Oklahoma 14
2009 Alabama 37 Texas 21
Notice anything missing? How about some undefeated teams? Yes, there are a couple in the twelve-year history of this farce, but there are schools that go undefeated every year, or nearly every year that will never get a sniff. Why? Because they’re not members of the “Big Boys Club”. The B.B.C. is made up of the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, PAC 10, Big East and ACC. If your team doesn’t happen to belong to one of these conferences, you will not get a shot at the national title. Period. There are teams listed above who had no right playing in the national championship game; namely Virginia Tech in 1999, Nebraska in 2001, and Texas in 2009. These teams all sustained butt-kickins’ that they have yet to recover from.
I believe most college football fans, true college football fans want to see great games. If their team isn’t in the running for the national title, then they simply want to see the two best teams go at it for sixty minutes. Even if that means that one of the teams, or God forbid, both of the teams aren’t in the B.B.C. I’m rooting for Boise State this season if for no other reason than to completely throw a monkey wrench into the works by making it to the Big Dance. I fully understand that there’s too much money involved in the B.B.C. to have teams that aren’t members playing for all the marbles, so I’m not going to hold my breath. But wouldn’t it be great if, just once, we had a national champion that wasn’t in the B.B.C.? I think it would be a beautiful thing for college football specifically and college sports as a whole.
So, since my beloved Vols are in the cellar looking up this season, I’m cheering for the Boise State Broncos, and that ugly Smurf Turf…..
